PREGNANCY TEST

If you are suspecting pregnancy, a pregnancy test is a prudent way to ensure if you are actually pregnant or not. In fact, if you are making efforts to become pregnant or you are worried or suspicious if you are pregnant, this waiting time is usually excruciating. You are fortunate that now you have much better and much sensitive testing procedure that can help you find out whether you are pregnant or not, that too, in a very early stage.

Such a pregnancy tests can be helpful in many ways. For example, if you are not pregnant and it is just that you are suspicious about it, the negative results obtained through the test keep your mind at ease. On the other hand, if you are really pregnant, you can go ahead and make appointments with the doctor in order to ensure the excellent prenatal care for your upcoming baby.
In order to understand about the procedure of these tests, one must understand the procedure of pregnancy first. In this procedure, the fertilized egg establishes itself on the wall of placenta forms and the uterus. There is a unique hormone called the HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) that’s also called the pregnancy hormone. Once the fertilized egg is established, it starts secreting this HCG hormone. It generally happens four to six days after the first occurrence of missed pregnancy period.


However, this number of days may be less or more depending upon the individual cases. The purpose of the pregnancy tests is to detect this secretion of the HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone).

The pregnancy test can be categorized into two broad categories. First is Pregnancy Blood Test and the second is Urine Pregnancy Test. If you want to check it at home you can do Urine Pregnancy Test at home. But if you want to have your Pregnancy Blood Test then you have to visit the doctor. However, it is very important for you to perform Pregnancy Blood Test as early as 11 days after conception. In case, you are going for the urine test, you must understand that Urine Pregnancy Test is effective only when it is performed somewhere around 14 days after the conception. You should also keep in mind that the levels of HCG hormones in a pregnant woman normally become double on every 2 to 3 days. Therefore, if you decide to wait for longer before you choose to go for the early pregnancy test, you are certainly going to get more exact and accurate results.
